After Gen Rev service, met up with the new cgl and a whole bunch of new faces. Fortunately Joshua accompanied me along since he also moving up into this cg in the near future too. The leader is quite friendly and chatted a lot with me to make me feel welcomed. The people seems interesting with people from all walks of life. We went to have dinner at Marina Sq food court. 0 Blessed Comments
I served as night patrol for the camp. I met someone who went to Beijing and shared with me her experience there.
I also babysit one of the rooms with 6 Pri 6 kids while their leaders. I realised that I cannot really play with them. Maybe I am too used to teaching kids tuition that I do not know how to play with them. Ended up telling bible stories to one of the kid.
Got to used the walkie talkie while I went out to patrol for a while. Interesting. 0 Blessed Comments
Many things happened the past week. Suddenly I sensed lots of oppression in my life. My sister suddenly became very irritating making lots of noise due to the holidays. I really felt so oppressed by the dark spiritual forces in our home. This is when I stay away from home for few days to seek God.
And certainly He is so faithful. He gave me a verse that encourages me so much. He said that "out of the eater comes something to eat, out of the strong comes something sweet". This verse actually came from the story of Samson when he killed a lion and found honey in its mouth which he posed as a riddle. How this verse spoke to me is simply that despite the devil wanting to eat away my peace at home, out of it will come something to eat. And out of the strong spiritual forces against my family shall come something sweet.
And through enough, God was so faithful towards me. Throughout this difficult time. He blessed me with great friends such some of my caregroup members who encouraged and prayed for me. Van even invited me to stay over at her house. Eventually, I ended up at Ana's house because I wanted to take sermons from her.
The Lord has His way of cheering me up in times of distress. While spending time with Ana, we went to Katong to have the genuine Katong Laksa. We also found a stall selling genuine Nyonya kuehs and food. They tasted really good. The best part was when I entered the store to pay for the kueh, the lady boss suddenly invited us upstairs to visit the Nyonya museum. To me, it was such a delight cause it was like God cheering me up.
Happened to saw this beaded shoe that was made to be modern. But it costs quite a lot!
