History Maker 6

I always heard that after going for church camp, people will experience spiritual things. I am very curious to know what it is like. Yet at the same time, I don't really like camp because of the exercises they will put onto us like what I always experience when I go for camps.

However, this trip is truly an enjoyable one. I begin to love church camps. It is more to free and easy most of the time. We stayed at Hotel Equatorial at Selangor, Malaysia. I love it because there is no condemnation when we are late. No punishment or whatsoever unlike other camps.

For the first day, its more to travelling. Certainly God has blessed us for the trip because we almost knocked onto a huge tanker in front of us. The journey seems short to me although its about 6 hours plus.

My roomies

In the toilet

Our room!!!

After checking in and stuff, we went for our dinner. Gosh, the food was fantastic. I simply loved the quality of the food. There is a huge variety and desserts are satisfying. I supposed that I ate too full that I felt very drowsy when its service time. When Paster Chin preached, I nodded my head unknowingly and half of the time my eyes were shut. Soon after we went to Marcus's Room 123 for fellowship.

The same thing happened for the second day. I cannot help but force myself awake during the morning service. I usually is very alert when it comes to preaching. I don't know why I react so differently. We played station games after lunch. There were this soccer game, pail game and "guess what is it" game.I enjoyed our last game the most. It is about entering a room about a crime scene in which a murder had occured. We had to find out who is the victims, how it happened and the motive behind the crime. Its the coolest among the so many games. ANyway, we won the first prize and also the most active and engaging prize. I already expected this because I prayed for victory throughout the game.

Fortunately I managed to stay awake for service but it was a rather short one. Pastor Chin wants the leaders to pray for people.I was prayed for but I did not feel anything although I saw people falling to the ground. I just continued my praise and worship.

The breakthrough occurred on the third day. This time instead of preaching, Pastor Chin chose to pray for the masses. The scene freaked me off a bit. All the people are supposed to be standing in rows. And when he annointed them, all fell down! And some cried. Oh man, you bet I am frightened that I got hestitant to be prayed over. The worship music continued. Soon, it ended my turn. My leader bring me to the front to be prayed for. My heart raced as he come over. The people before me just fell with just a touch on the forhead without him having to say anything.

He was now in front of me. Surprisingly, he did not just touch my forehead, he prayed something which I cAnnot catch because it was too noisy. Then he laid his hands onto my forehead and I just fall back. Gosh, I don't know why I suddenly cannot stop crying. The feeling is so weird, I felt His intense love for me. The love was so overpowering that I cannot stop crying. At the end after quite a while. I woke up. I just felt happy. Perhaps I know that I had received something from HIm. I know I no longer have to worry about the problems I have because He is there to solve them. Praise Lord.

Anyway, we afterwhich in the night time is the Project Superstar where everyone has to dress up. Our caregroup is wearing occupation for the theme. I dressed as an air stewardess. Many poeple got shocked by how I looked like one. But no, being an air stewardess is never my ambition. Others dressed like geisha, technician, doctor, dentist. We are to catwalk on stage for a photograph. The performance for the dance and singing was great. The atmosphere is perfect.

Sadly, its time for home. I am looking forward to the next church camp. Hallejuah.

The joy of giving

Have you ever observe the expression of the person you just gave something to? I bet it is always a happy and joyful one. That happiness just wrapped you somehow.

I don't know about you, but recently, I found its a joy to be giving things. When you shift the attention to satisfying someone else's needs who are less fortunate than you. Just will just suddenly find joy in that. Instead of focusing on your inability to solve your problem, focus on solving others problems. Somehow, I realise that God will just solve my problem for me.

Giving is a miraculous to do, it creates breakthrough. Even wondered why those successful people always like to set up foundation? Only through giving then only you can multiply. They set up a channel for them to give to receive more blessings from God. When you are little, give little, however, more often than not, people who have little thought that they will wait they have enough before they give.

I can tell you, they will never feel that they have enough then. They will always feel unsatisfied. Giving is one way to receive more. If you ever think about it. When you have something for yourself, you will only make one person happy. But if you will to give or share, you make people around you happy. Is that not better? speading joy is activity that will make you much happier than you can imagine. If you don't believe, try giving to someone without hoping anything in return when you got the chance. You will be amazed by the joy you felt.

As the Scripture says," For the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

Bright side of things

We all have a choice, to live in the darkness or to live in the brightness. In all things, there are two sides of a coin. Its either you look at the bright side of things or you look at the dark side of things. Needless to say, when you look at the bright side of things, you can't help but feel happy all over again. Vice versa, you will feel gloomy and down making people around you to feel the same way.

Sometimes its ok to feel down. When you do really feel down. Just go to a corner or to the toilet if you are outside and talk to yourself internally. For me I talk to God. But for non believers, you can just ask yourself why you feel sad and then ask yourself is it worthwhile to let that matter upset you. When you done so, you realise that what actually makes you down is just a small case. Nothing to feel bad about, then you move on. If there is something or someone who spoils your day, just choose to move away. Move away from that person and go to another person that will brighten your day.

I don't know how much to emphasis this. Being with people who are positive just makes me happy. Being with such people just don't give you a chance to feel sad. At the end of the day, you just can't help but feel happy.

Somehow if one choose to look at the bright side of things, things just happen that way. Even if not, one will be more ready mentally and physically to deal with the things that went wrong. People always make the habit of worrying about things yet to happen and end up make themselves feeling upset.

A room will either be dark or bright if you choose to on or off the switch the lamp, it cannot be bright and dark at the same time. The same goes to ourselves, we cannot be happy and sad at the same time. We got the switch in our mind, if we choose to switch to happy mode, we will be happy and see all the positive side of things. On the other hand, if we switch to depress mode, we will feel all the negative side of things. Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, choose to be in the bright side so that you can also light up the lives of others as well.

Time

Ever wondered why some people felt that life is so meaningful whereas so people felt that the have no purpose or direction in life? Each and everyone of us has something in common. That is TIME. But why is that some people can earn few thousands in just a minute while some people may take months to earn it?

Time is something we all have. We have the control of time. However, more often than not, people allowed time to control them. Those people who can create lots of wealth in a minute are those who spend their time on things of value. Those people who find it so difficult to earn money more often than not spend their time on meaningless things. Perhaps on enjoyment. I am not saying enjoyment is not necessary but I felt that there should be a limit. Sometimes people rest and enjoy to much. But why is it that they have to enjoy? Very simple, they felt a lack of satisfication.

Shopping and watching a movie can only satisfy a person for a temporary period of time. Afterwhich, they began to feel empty. That explains why successful people enjoy working. Usually entrepreneurs gain lots of satisfaction from their work. They simply love and are passionate about their work and the rewards they get from it. So much so they might have little or no time for shopping or leisure.

Investing time to upgrade your knowledge is very crucial. Books provide tremondous insights of things not known in textbooks. Textbooks are boring and dry. All are based on theorys. But books give stories. Stories people find easy to relate with. Constantly looking out for opportunities is also very important. Sometimes you can't expect doors to just open for you. You must first knock the door.

With this, I hope we will grab hold of every second, every minute that God has given us and invest wisely our time. Spend your time with the right people, doing the right things. God Bless.

Favour

Today is my last day of work. I can only say I am truly blessed. My whole 6 months in SAM is so happy and carefree. It is one place I will really miss. The people, the place. My work is so interesting. Going to work is a pleasure. My lunch khakis are fantastic. What more can I ask for?

I have this verse sticked onto my desk which really showed God's glory today:

Proverbs 3

3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.

4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.

Its recently I realise that giving is a joy. Giving without hoping anything in return. And that is when you don't hope for anything, things just fall to you from Lord through man. See all these cool stuff and also a cd with anointed songs, they are all given to me on my last day.

I don't know how to describe it. But surely this is favour from God. I mean who am I that people have to give gifts to me when I leave, I am just a nobody? Most who give gifts to me, I seldom chat with them. At most I help them out at work. But what makes them want to buy me gifts and treat me delicious lunch to resturants. I tell you. Its certainly the favour from God and nothing else. He makes people around me nice and generous.

Oh Lord, I can so honoured to have won favour in your sight. Thank you so much for all your blessings. With you I put my trust onto.

Fate and Destiny

Have we ever thought what is fate and what is destiny? I tell you how I define it. Fate is something in which we cannot change. Example can we choose to be borne to be a rich man's child or to be borne in a poor family? No. We cannot choose and there is no way we can choose. But, we can actually choose to change our destiny. Destiny is how we design our life to be. If you design it to be successful,it will be successful, and if you design it to be dull, it will be dull.

Many people live according to their fate and not willing to change their own destiny. Either they never try or tried and gave up. And in the end, they just end up to become a face in the crowd. Many people just live life as it is. Not willing to come out of their comfort zone. They felt that as long as they are not in need, then its all right. People felt that they will forever be what they are borne. If they are borne poor, they allow themselves to be poor all their lives. Why? Because they have this image in their minds that they are poor people and the thought of being rich never strike across them. And even if there are such thoughts, they will just brush them away.

Just what is designing destiny? Let me illustrate, the Wright Brothers were just ordinary people working as bicycle repairman. But did they just let it remain that way? NO! They had dreams, they dreamt of one day being able to fly like the birds in the sky. Did they just day dream? Absolutely not, they experiments and inmitate the way a bird fly and finally after numberous failures created the aeroplane. Dear friends, the meaning you choose to give to your life is the meaning you create. Your life can be designed. Successful people succeed not because its a concidence, they designed it. Has not Adam Khoo designed his plan to become a millionaire at age 26?

Many a times, people are comfortable with their lives because of the lack of dreams. When we were young, we will fantasize all sorts of things. But when we gets older, we lose our imagination. We replaced wonderful imaginations with worries. Instead of imaging how good our life will be, we imagine how bad it will be. What you think is what you get. Your mind controls your speech, your speech controls your actions. Thats explain why people always get what they dread the most.

Destiny is meant for us to change. And changing it takes a lot of actions. Without actions, a thought will always be a thought. As what the bible says " In all labour there is profit. But idle chatter leads only to proverty".

There, live your life. Each of us only have one life. Whether or not its going to be interesting or dull lies in your hands. Do not let others control your life.

Do not let others control your life

My apologies for not updating my blog lately. Been real busy recently. Can see lots of my readers run to other sites instead right? Oh well, at least there is still some faithful ones who will view occasionally to see if I did update. Thanks very much for these faithful people.

I just got this idea coming onto my way. I felt that God had created us for a purpose. Everyone has his or her own potential to do their best in life and to uncover what is it that God has planned for his or her life. Unfortunately, many people instead of following God's plan or their own plan, they follow the plan of others. Am I wrong? Certainly not!

From the day we are borne, we follow what our parents told us to do. We go for nursery schools, primary schools, secondary schools, some junior colleges and some polytechnics, and finally universities. But at the end of the day, what have we achieved? Just what have we got? At most, its just a tiny puny $2k salary if you happen to be a degree holder! And lets calculate how much we have invested for the many years of studies. Let's give $10,000 for education from nursery to junior college with all the school fees, books, lecture notes, project materials and $22,000(conservative figures)for uni education. Total=$32,000 and 18 years of education in exchange for salary of $2.2k! Just imagine how long you are going to ROI! With our increasing GST of 7% next year and ever increasing living standards, yet our salary never seem to increase, it just seem that we might never retire.

I supposed that is why Mr Lee,touched on the PAP’s fundamentals of racial harmony, meritocracy, enterprise and inclusiveness. It seem the only way out of this rat race is to be an entrepreneur. Instead of letting the government, parents, teachers control your life, why not you take charge of your own lives and even carve the lives of others?
