Ever comes to your mind what a virtuous wife is like? I am sure most of you will think that she is one who is submissive and dependent on the husband. One who only know how to cook and take care of the children? But know what the bible (God) says about a virtuous wife?

The Virtuous Wife

10 Who[b] can find a virtuous[c] wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
13 She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
She brings her food from afar.

She bring her food from afar, to me it was revealed that the wife is able to provide different kind of cruisine, like Korean, Japanese, Western, Chinese etc.

15 She also rises while it is yet night,
And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants.

So she also works very early in the morning to prepare breakfast... and her maid have a share too.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
From her profits she plants a vineyard.

She also do speculation and buy properties. With the profits, she actually use it to plant a vineyard. Then you may wonder, why a vineyard? Ask yourself, what does vineyard produces? Yes, wine. And what does wine signify? Jesus's blood to wash away our sins. Which means to say she invest in the kingdom of God.

17 She girds herself with strength,
And strengthens her arms.

18 She perceives that her merchandise is good,
And her lamp does not go out by night.

So she also do business, she sells goods. And she will call her merchandise good which means it will be profitable. And she sleeps very late at night.

19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hand holds the spindle.
20 She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.

She is kind hearted and compassionate and will provide for the poor too.

21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,
For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
22 She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

Linen speaks of coolness and purple represents royalty. This means that she is relaxed while she is doing all these things.

23 Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.

Now this is the most important thing of all. Guess who is her husband? He is certainly not some Tom, Dick or Harry. He is someone reputable and is well known. As seen from hhim being known in the gates. In ancient times, being at the gates is very visible. And sits among elders of the land. Note that sits among, but does not say is an elder! So which means to say that he is knowledgeable and learned to be able to sit among them.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants.

Again, she does business as seen from the buying of materials from suppliers and selling them after adding value (make into garments). Don't play play, the garment she makes makes people feel cool after wearing too. Haha...

25 Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.

This speaks by itself.

26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

She whatever she says is of wisdom and she speaks of kindness. Oh, so pleasing to hear.

27 She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.

Means she is careful of the needs of her family. She is hard working and does not laze around.

28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:

So this is what all wives loves, praises from husbands.

29 “ Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

One who is beautiful and charming may not be praised, but one who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
And let her own works praise her in the gates.

The works under her hands prosper and whatever she do, it shall be fruitful.

Personal opinion: Notice that if she have to do so much things, means she does not hold a proper job like 8am to 5pm? I supposed her husband provides her the money to do the business while she takes care of the household. And from the business, she earns money and bless her household.

If I am a guy, I would also want such a woman...
