After watching Yoshie teach for the first lesson, the next lesson was me teaching 5F. I remembered before entering the class, I was praying that the children will be the class that I wanted- responsive, active, engaging and listens to me. When I first entered the class, I was feeling abit scared as I took out the artworks and place it in front of the class. I can sense my hands shivering a bit. I was going to teach about public sculptures. Then, I just felt the anointing was upon me the moment I opened my mouth. All nervousness disappeared and I just love the flow. I love the way the kids respond enthusiasically and hands are raised all over the class. Its quite different from speaking to a class of adults. If there is one hand that is raised, I am considered lucky. When I see the kids being so responsive, it just draw me to want to tell them more. I love the expressions on their faces when they seemed so engross in what I am saying. I love it when they respond to my every questions. They just seemed to draw from me. I love to express myself totally with big actions and many expressions and seeing them being totally interested. Its so funny to see kids raising their hands and then standing up to give an answer. Like its been ages since I last saw such a senario. I saw few students who are either monitor or prefects contributing answers. No wonder they are chosen for such positions. Its hard not to notice them. Fun as it is, its HOT to teach in a classroom setting with fans blowing the students but not in the teacher's area. I keep perspiring like anything else. And man, when I finished the class, my throat was burning! Yes, I can literally sense my throat burning from thirst. I believe its the first time of my life raising my voice for so long. And I felt so drained out for almost the whole day which makes me wonder how teachers survive. It really takes a lot of energy to teach a class. Still, I totally enjoyed the volunteer session and would like to try out next time round. For those interested in volunteering too, come on! No art experience is needed, as long as you speak English and do not have stage fright, come and volunteer. And praise the Lord for He has delivered me from an akward situation making me enjoy the lesson totally. 1 Comments:ask me along! i am a pro teacher!! HAHA... thats my occupation anyway. i might change that soon,so find me before i do!
