I never realise that I never hate children as much as I thought I did. In fact, I realise I kinda of like them. I like to see children happy. That explains why I got so excited about Huey's niece that time. She is such a happy girl and is always in laughter. It thrills me quite a lot seeing them happy. All along, I just don’t like children that make a big din crying and shouting like nobody's business and those who are not disciplined. Therefore, it is not children that I hated.
Somehow, I realise if you were to hate something or fear something, then you are not able to love them. Because both cannot come together like oil and water. Its only when you remove the oil(hatred or fear) then only water(love) can flow. I remembered my cousins who are in secondary school used to come to our house monthly to play. I used to take their presence for granted. They laughed and all. Until recently, they have to stay at their house to receive tuition. Then only I realize that our house become so quiet and lifeless without their laughter and all. Then only I realize that children really bring life to a family. All along, they are there, but I never notice nor appreciate.
I did something I never done before last Saturday. I talked to my sister for the first in donkey years. I encouraged her to improve on her grades. I even created a score sheet to be her target. Well, I should say that perhaps I am already immune to her “noise”. She really has the habit of shouting at home. But I supposed without her shouting, the house will really be very quiet. I suppose when people reach a certain age, they don’t feel like shouting, neither do they feel like laughing. Oh, say of laughing, my pastor really knows how to make us laugh. Just attending one service and you will know what I mean.
